We are currently looking to recruit a Procurement & Stores Manager to join our expanding team.

Vortec Marine are a leading independent yacht refit, repair and maintenance service centre providing high-quality service and workmanship with an experienced team consisting of shipwrights; joiners; marine engineers and riggers. Vortec are equipped to cover all manner of works from annual maintenance through to full refit accommodating vessels measuring up to 40m. We are also the accredited Nautor's Swan Authorised Service and Refit Centre and Hinckley Yachts Service.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for ordering parts for approved jobs and ensuring they are available for the technicians prior to them undertaking the work. You will also manage the consumables, company tools & assets between two sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Regular communication with the estimator to ensure once a job has been approved all parts and consumables are ordered efficiently, delivery dates monitored and managed right through to arrival ensuring efficient working for the technicians
• Responsible for checking, receiving and coding all goods in
• Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner
• Keep a record of, and report any frequent shortages or spare items
• Carry out regular stock takes
• Ensure PAR stock levels for core consumables, placing orders as and when necessary
• Daily organization of goods ready for technicians
• Ensure tools are returned to the workshop by staff at the end of each shift
• Liaise with supplier and handle queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies
• Manage price negotiations with suppliers
• Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
• Develop and implement a procurement strategy
• Use a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases, and bespoke software to ensure the efficient running of the workshop.

Skills and Experience
• IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
• Experience working in a similar inventory or stock control role
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
