Role Overview
This is a varied, customer-facing Marina Operative position suited to someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with boats, and being right at the heart of marina operations. You will have responsibility across the entire marina environment.
You’ll be one of the key faces on site, supporting berth holders, visitors, contractors, and seasonal staff, while helping ensure the marina runs safely, smoothly, and professionally at all times.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front Desk

  • Providing friendly, professional customer service both in person and over the phone
  • Assisting with berth holder renewals and general enquiries
  • Using marina systems, computers, and payment machines
  • Helping to resolve remote issues such as electricity supply problems for berth holders
You’ll be highly visible around the marina – if you’re within a few metres of someone, you’ll be expected to acknowledge them and offer help where needed.

Marina & Boatyard Operations
  • Regularly walking the pontoons to check the condition, safety, and general presentation of the marina
  • Carrying out general marina maintenance tasks, including moving bins and keeping communal areas tidy
  • Supporting boatyard activities as required
  • Assisting with tasks such as jet washing, handling lift blocks, and moving safely on and off vessels
  • No requirement to operate heavy machinery, but confidence working around boats is essential

Team & Site Support
  • Working closely with the wider marina team, including seasonal staff
  • Supporting safe working practices and maintaining high standards across the site
  • Representing the marina positively at all times

Ideal Candidate
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner
  • Comfortable using computers and basic systems
  • Practical, hands-on, and happy working outdoors in all weather
  • Confident around boats and water
  • Flexible, reliable, and happy with a varied role
  • Previous marina, boating, or marine experience is beneficial but not essential
