The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our client’s dynamic and ambitious team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects, working within a highly skilled team of naval architects, structural engineers, stylists, and systems engineers. With an impressive portfolio of bespoke recreational boats and superyacht tenders, they offer an environment where passion and expertise drive every project forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design projects from concept to production, ensuring innovation and functionality.
- Work across composite structures, tooling, laminate drawings, mechanical assemblies, yacht systems, deck layouts, and mechanical components.
- Produce high-quality 2D drawings & 3D models using SolidWorks & Rhino.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturing.
- Contribute to a team that values creativity, precision, and craftsmanship in every project.
- 4 plus years of experience in design engineering (less experienced candidates with the right attitude are encouraged to apply!).
- A strong understanding of composite structures
- Passion for the marine industry, with hands-on experience being highly desirable.
- A driven, problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable taking ownership and working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
- The desire to lead and support more junior members of the team
