Yacht Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Yacht Technician to join a busy sailing and watersports operation based in Hamble, one of the UK’s most active yachting hubs. This role is ideal for someone practical, hands-on, and passionate about boats, who enjoys working both independently and as part of a small team.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and preparing a fleet of modern sailing yachts, ensuring they are safe, fully operational, and presented to a high standard for customers.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining and preparing a fleet of modern sailing yachts, ensuring they are safe, fully operational, and presented to a high standard for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine maintenance and servicing across a fleet of sailing yachts
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and onboard systems
- Preparing yachts for charter, training courses, and customer handovers
- Conducting inspections and fault finding across engines, rigging, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Supporting lift-outs, antifouling, and seasonal maintenance
- Ensuring yachts are clean, well-presented, and ready for use
- Maintaining maintenance logs and reporting any issues or required works
- Assisting with general yard and marina duties when required
- Previous experience working with yachts or marine vessels
- Strong practical skills across mechanical, electrical, or marine systems
- Knowledge of diesel engines, onboard electrics, and marine plumbing is highly desirable
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a hands-on environment
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence preferred
