Marine resources have an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join an established and expanding client who operate Asset Management, Facilities Management and Energy Solutions across the maritime and defence environments.

Main responsibilities

  • Assurance of compliance to all relevant statutory and regulatory legislation within a maritime infrastructure environment

  • Ownership of complex technical problems

  • Technical acceptance of structural elements of project design and ensuring compliance with design intent

  • Communicate proactively with other team members to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions and unblock technical issues

  • To maintain and improve the Engineering, Assurance and Compliance Team technical competence, identifying development needs of individuals or the group to deliver the required structural capability within the business

  • Manage and present asset condition status to asset owner

  • To provide technical support with updating Asset Management Plans

  • The development and support the strategic plans for infrastructure and business improvement


Required experience

  • You will be a degree qualified engineer with 5+ years’ experience within a structural engineering discipline.

  • To be a chartered engineer, or working towards chartership

  • In assuring compliance to all relevant statutory and regulatory legislation within a maritime and built infrastructure environment

  • In safely satisfying operational demands across all areas of PNB

  • Proficient in carrying our Structural surveys and reports

  • Working knowledge of relevant UK standards, Eurocodes, relevant design guidance documentation and Building Regulations

  • Knowledge of Building Information Management (BIM) and Asset Data Management systems

  • Membership of related technical professional body such as IStructE or ICE.

  • Preferably CEng, or equivalent technical accreditation / membership or working towards qualification.

  • Health and Safety training i.e. IOSH Managing Safely, CITB SMSTS or CSCS or equivalent

  • Hold, have held or eligible to apply for security clearance
