About the Role I am working with a well-established marina and boatyard on the South Coast, seeking a skilled GRP Laminator/Finisher to join their team. This role is focused on high-quality GRP laminating, finishing, polishing, as well as hatch and seacock replacements.

You’ll be carrying out repair and maintenance works on a range of vessels for both berth holders and visiting customers. The position offers a varied workload and the chance to be part of a friendly, supportive team within a busy and vibrant marina environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on customer vessels up to 30m LOA, specialising in GRP laminating, finishing, polishing, and hardware replacement.

  • Maintain a high standard of health & safety in all operations, ensuring compliance with company policy.

  • Liaise with customers professionally and ensure clear communication with the wider team to meet deadlines and maintain scope of works.

  • Assist with general yard services as required, including lifting, pressure washing, blocking off, and relaunching vessels.

  • Keep work areas clean and safe, ensuring excellent presentation and minimising hazards in public areas.

  • Support dry stack operations and assist in maintaining yard machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain accurate timesheets and ensure the security of customer property at all times.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in GRP laminating, finishing, and polishing.

  • Practical skills in hatch and seacock replacement.

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

  • Good understanding of different boat types and handling characteristics (training available for plant and boat handling).

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Team player with a positive, flexible, ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.

  • Ability to swim is essential.
