We have a fantastic new opportunity at an innovative and forward thinking Design Studio. Designing boats for the power craft market as well as catamarans and other vessels from concept to delivery! Our client is looking for a Senior Designer who is experienced with lightweight, advanced composite vessel design. Who can apply innovative engineering principles to work with clients throughout the project design process. Producing work to a very high standard based on practical engineering principles and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities:
Leading design engineering projects from concept through to delivery
Design all elements of a variety of vessels
Produce well presented drawings and plans
Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings for a wide range of products from small components to whole vessel systems
Attend regular design meeting to control priorities and timescales
Provide technical guidance to other team members
Create technical reports
Liaise with clients, with the potential for some overseas travel
 
Skills and Qualifications:
4 years plus design experience
Degree qualified as a Naval Architect
Experience at Rhino 3D, Solidworks and other design software
Clear communicator and problem-solving skills
Experience leading projects from requirement capture through to delivery
Other desirable experience includes extensive experience in systems design, electrical, fuel and bilge etc. Experience with high performance sailing systems composite structures.
 
We are looking for this experienced designer to have a fantastic self drive to want to improve and always learn. The ability to work as part of a busy design team as well as listen and act on feedback from other members of the team and clients. With a clear capability to communicate technical information effectively orally and written.
