The Role
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and components across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost and delivery performance
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure contractual compliance
- Negotiating pricing and commercial terms with vendors
- Creating and issuing purchase orders
- Updating internal systems with order details including dates, quantities and discounts
- Tracking order progress to ensure timely delivery
- Verifying goods received against purchase documentation
- Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience negotiating with suppliers in a professional environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal teams and external vendors
- Professional phone manner and polished interpersonal skills
- Solid IT capability; experience with Sage 200 is an advantage
- A hands‑on, practical approach to problem‑solving
