Our client is looking for a Junior Product Designer either a graduate or 1/2 years experience!
Do you want to be involved in the design and development of marine equipment, working on the initial concept through to production?
This fantastic company specialises in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, working on a wide range of products in the commercial, leisure and defence sectors. We are looking for someone who enjoyed at Uni or has some work experience in the design process, including product prototyping, production design, costing and manual writing.
If you already have an understanding of ISO & SOLAS standards then that is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop innovative product ranges from concept to production.
Design products to the brief and price point.
Product prototypes and run initial testing and validation.
Produce design documentation for 3rd party approval process.
Product technical documents, specifications and drawings to support in house and 3rd party manufacture.
Working with manufacturing facilities to introduce prototype design into full production.
Key Skills/Qualifications:
Degree qualified in design, product design or equivalent experience.
Clear understanding of the design process
Experience with AutoCAD 2D Drawing packages or similar
Experience with 3D modelling either AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or similar
Experience with 3D printing technologies
You will be:
Self-motivated and passionate about what you do. Making sure you drive projects to completion.
Attention to detail and good communication skills
Experience in the Marine industry or a keen interest in sailing, water sports or outdoor activities
If you have experience with RF welded, Sewn or Bonded structures this would be an advantage.
If you already have an understanding of ISO & SOLAS standards then that is also an advantage.
