Submarine Engineers - UK
Due to continued growth, a leading marine defence company is looking to expand their Submarine Engineering team at Engineer and Senior Engineer level. As a member of the team, you will provide high-level submarine technical expertise and professionalism to their UK and overseas clients. You will also develop new business and contribute to their internal R&D work on future submarine design concepts. You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of projects across their full portfolio including Surface Ships and a range of broader Consulting Projects within their other market areas. Opportunities to develop project management and leadership will also be available to you.
Personal Requirements
• You will have initial industry experience in applying engineering methodologies and processes.
• You will also have a HND/HNC and/or a degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant discipline - that is, Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine Engineering.
• You will contribute to the development and delivery of technical solutions for their submarine customers and will use your understanding of engineering to provide technical support across a range of related projects, both in the domestic market and overseas.
• Some demonstrable practical and relevant experience of conventional or nuclear submarine design, manufacture, operation, support and/or disposal;
• Knowledge and understanding of submarine systems and equipment;
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a recognised professional body, or a demonstrable route to achieving this;
• The ability and experience to develop close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and interfaces to progress business and programme demands.
• Project management and/or delivery experience.
• Please note, the successful candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level.
