Marine Resources are seeking mechanically minded people to join a world leading mast builder on the south coast as a Yacht Assembler.

This is a varied and satisfying role where you will build and assemble masts; fitting fixtures and installing systems on anything from smaller dinghy to large yacht masts as part of an experienced team within a well-established business.

This is an hourly paid position with hourly rates starting from £11.50 with room for increases depending on experience.
Previous marine industry experience is NOT essential but ability with practical, dexterous work in a manufacturing/assembly work is required.

The core duty of the role is to build and assemble yacht masts according to Bill of Material instructions and supporting technical drawings.

This includes:

· Measure and mark out positions for fittings and fixtures.
· Measure and mark out positions for any necessary routing , cutting , drilling, riveting etc.
· Fit, assemble, and secure all parts according to BOM using a range of hand and power tools.
· Raise any issues that conflict with BOM instructions.
· Fit conduit, hydraulics, and wiring as required.
· Join Mast sections where required.
· Undertake rigging where necessary.
· Move rigs around to other departments.
· Check own work and work of other yacht dept team members.
· Maintain attention to detail and quality.
· Assist with stock take.
· Health and safety in the workplace compliance and awareness.
· To take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Essential skills required:

· Wide range of hand & power tool experience.
· Measuring and marking out experience.
· Able to work as part of a small team.
· Ability to understand BOM instructions and technical drawings.
· Experience of assembly work.
· Basic computer literacy.
