One the industry’s leading marine safety electronic manufacturers, with a global presence and a product range that is used across all sectors of the marine industry, are looking for a Marine Product Manager (Electronics) to help define the new range of products launching over a truly exciting few years for the business.  
 
The newly created role will play a critical role in the development of the marine range working with key teams across the business and liaising with the senior management to ensure the efficient management of the entire product life cycle. This new role will be an enabler for the company growth and will be working as a bridge between commercial and technical teams ensuring they have a process-based approach to the marine product range. 
 
Working within a mandated environment you will not only ensure compliance and regulatory standards but also have the commercial ability to push back on ROI cases whilst assessing and forecast current and future trends that could impact the product range. 

Within the role there will be some travel both national and international. Happy to see applicants outside of the marine sector, but must have strong knowledge of electronics. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  •  Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure that products are designed to meet customer needs and adhere to applicable regulatory standards
  • Oversee the entire product development process for all products, from concept to launch
  • Manage the product life cycle, which includes product updates, upgrades, and end-of-life activities
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders related to the business
  • Developing products through insights from market research and customer buying behaviour
  • Defining the key features, specifications and requirements of the product based on customer preferences
  • Conducting competitor research to learn more about customers’ needs
  • Understanding of marine industry standards such as SOLAS, MED, USC, ISO and COSPAS-SARSAT
The ideal candidate will come from a marine background and understand the marine industry standards as well as an understanding of product design from concept to launch and end of life activities.
