Marine Engineer – North Wales Coast
Salary: From £30k DOE| Location: Conwy Marina

They’re looking for a skilled Marine Engineer to join their busy Conwy Marina team, supporting berth holders and visiting customers alike.
About the role
As a Marine Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of customers’ vessels, focusing on onboard systems such as engines, generators, electrical installations, and plumbing. You’ll also assist the boatyard team with lifting, relaunching, and general yard operations. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.

About the role
As a Marine Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of customers’ vessels, focusing on onboard systems such as engines, generators, electrical installations, and plumbing. You’ll also assist the boatyard team with lifting, relaunching, and general yard operations. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain health & safety standards across the marina and boatyard.
- Service, diagnose, repair, and refit inboard/outboard engines (diesel & petrol).
- Install and maintain onboard systems including electrical and plumbing.
- Assist the Boatcare team with lifting, high-pressure washing, blocking off, and relaunching vessels.
- Liaise with customers professionally, providing advice and support.
- Support planning and coordination of boatyard work, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently.
- Keep the boatyard and public areas clean, safe, and tidy.
- Operate yard equipment safely and maintain machinery in line with compliance standards.
- Record inspections and servicing of equipment.
- Undertake other tasks to support marina operations as required.
- Proven experience in boat maintenance, repairs, and refits.
- Competent with engines, electrical systems, plumbing, and general onboard maintenance.
- Health & safety aware, with the ability to follow policies and safe operating procedures.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift 25kg safely; comfortable working outside in all weather.
- Ability to swim.
- Willingness to undertake training for plant operation, towing, and handling boats safely.
