We are looking for a Marine Mechanical Technician to support our client's growing fleet of autonomous and crewed vessels. Key responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion of work orders, maintenance activities and project tasks.
- Perform hands-on mechanical work, including troubleshooting, repairs and installations.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant mechanical codes, safety regulations and company policies.
- Accurately record work performed, parts used, and time spent in maintenance systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vessel reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with electrical, operations, safety, and quality departments to deliver integrated solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Significant, recent relevant experience in the marine industry (ship repair, vessel operations or related field).
- Strong technical background in mechanical systems, including propulsion, hydraulics and auxiliary systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with autonomous or remotely operated vessels.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- In-depth knowledge of marine mechanical standards, tools, and best practices.
