Facilities Electrician

About the Role

As a hands-on Muliti-Skilled Electrician, you will provide specialist technical expertise to support the Facilities team in providing an appropriate built environment for all staff, visitors and volunteers on the Poole site.

You will also:

Multi-Skilled site electrician responsible for proactively carrying out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and proactively addressing reactive calls via the helpdesk.

Responsible for maintaining the site holding of electrical critical spares.

Where your skill set allows, proactively contribute to the operational position of a multi-skilled building services technician and assist colleagues within other trade disciplines both technical and fabric.

Identify energy saving initiatives and implement opportunities to reduce energy consumption. Monitor and make alterations to temperature and plant controls via a BMS system. Ensure energy saving BMS controls are working in accordance with best practice.

Manage your own workload with reference to the reactive helpdesk and PPM scheduling. Proactively log work with the helpdesk, update the helpdesk with work progression and engage with the end user at all times.

Maintain existing electrical installations and install new when required. Complete inspections and certifications where required.There will also be a requirement to be part of an on-call rota ensuring operational cover for weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.Maintains a professional standard of record keeping of electrical documentation together with all other statutory documentation required to be maintained within the scope of a Multi Skilled Technician.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a service environment and has a pragmatic, positive approach to the job with an understanding of the importance of customer facing and engaging service.

To be considered as the Electrician you will need:

Essential – NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical trade. 17th/18 th edition wiring regulations.

Essential – Experience working within the commercial building services sector.

Essential - A full driving licence.

Desirable – City & Guilds 2391 test & inspection, PASMA, IPAF, Asbestos awareness, Legionella Awareness, experience of building management systems (BMS)

Salary up to £37,909 (dependent on experience)

26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays
