Marine Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity to join a world-leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in high-end marine systems for the luxury yacht, commercial ship, and military ship market sectors. We are a dynamic team of professionals supplying and supporting our highly successful technology-based products worldwide.
Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally with Hydraulic experience, to work from our leading European office. You will play a crucial role in engineering projects from conception to completion. You will work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong understanding of Marine Mechanical Engineering and ideally, will have been involved in hydraulics and hydraulic circuits. We are seeking a self-starter who has strong technical skills to support and help the commercial projects team.

Responsibilities
  • Technical support for marine commercial projects, reviewing specifications of contracts, producing factor acceptance testing documents, handbooks and information sheets.
  • Prepare and review marine engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure classification requirements are met on customer contracts.
  • Assist spares and service teams with product queries.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Support and work within project timelines and budgets.
  • Other duties reasonably assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or other Marine Engineering related field.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and an understanding of hydraulic circuits is desirable.
  • Proven experience in marine projects and engineering.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software for design and drafting purposes.
  • Knowledge of SAGE, Mathcad and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
