European Dealer Sales Manager, Leisure Marine

European Distributor of the World's leading brand of high end aluminium sports fishing boats manufactured in Australasia.

Set up in the mid 90s, this brand build and sell via 28 dealers over 500 boats per year, which accounts for 10% of the market of 6m - 9m boats per year in Australasia.

The boats are built on quality, performance, customisation and finish rather than price.

In the last two years a European distributor has been established based between a facility in Leicester, where they will hold up to 50 boats in stock at their European hub, and one in Hythe, Southampton.

Following a successful Dusseldorf boat show (where they had 42 dealer enquiries); they now have 12 dealers each in different countries in Europe, and will increase this number to 16.

They have partnered with a leading outboard manufacturer to package their boats with in Europe, and they have partnered with the largest manufacturer of fishing equipment in the World, globally.

They are looking to hire an International Dealer Sales Manager to be based in the UK.

Ideally living within a commutable distance to Leicester (although the right person may be able to work remotely and spend 1-2 days a week in the office); the role will include consistent European air travel to visit dealers.

This person will be tasked with growing and developing the dealer network; and specifically to selling the benefit to dealers of buying stock to hold, and managing dealers to commit to stock.

They aim to sell 120 boats in Europe in 2021, and a target of 250-300 boats in 2022 year.

The ideal person will have experience of selling boats (it is essential that they have at least three to five years sales experience within the marine industry) and ideally experience of managing or working in a dealer network.

Knowledge of, or a passion for, fishing would also be an advantage.

The role will also entail trailering boats nationally and on occasions internationally, to attend shows and demos etc; and it is ESSENTIAL that this person has experience of - and is capable of - towing (trailering) boats up to 24ft.

Fast moving models will be held in stock but due to the high end nature of the boats, and the opportunity to customise them, many boats will be built to order with a 3-4 month lead time.

The company are offering a competitive salary and an uncapped OTE with a commission per boat / build slot sold.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in a well-established international brand in the early stages of its presence in Europe.
