Marine Resources are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to work on cutting edge vessels powered by the industries newest Electric Propulsion systems.

Specialising and leading Electric Propulsion tech, our client is offering the opportunity to join a company at the forefront of the market with their own fully electric boats for both the superyacht and commercial markets.


The Role: This job will be based in Southampton but you will be expected to travel to an Italian facility and US office along with other projects that will be involved with overseas.


Your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Fit of electrical & mechanical equipment on marine vehicles. This to occur both in the workshop, and on board vessels (may include European & worldwide travel)

  • Manufacture of wiring looms from drawing, both for low voltage (12 & 24VDC) and higher voltages (e.g. 400VDC)

  • Documentation of electrical & mechanical systems as required (manufacture, assembly and installation instructions)

  • Responsible for Quality Control of electrical systems across boats and R&D test rigs.

  • Support to the design team & software team.

  • The assembly of electrical & mechanical equipment in the workshop.

  • Fault finding & fixing, with the support of the design team. Attendance on board vessels oversea will be required.

  • Responsibility for the smooth, clean and efficient running of the workshop.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements in the workshop.

  • Responsible for Stock control in the workshop.

  • Support with implementing production methods for small and medium scale production runs.

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential

  • Qualified in a relevant electrical engineering subject

  • Experience in the development of electrical and control system products

  • Proven experience of using relevant industry standards

  • Awareness of all phases of the engineering lifecycle and configuration control systems

Desirable

  • Experience of operating in a marine environment

  • Powerboat Level 2
