Job Title: Boatyard Operative (Part Time – 30 hrs per week)
Location: Royal Quays Marina, North Shields
Closing Date: 30th March 2026
If you enjoy working by the water and want a practical, hands‑on role, this could be a great opportunity. I’m currently recruiting for a Boatyard Operative to join the team at Royal Quays Marina on a part‑time basis.
This is an operational role working within the marina boatyard, supporting vessel lifting, launching, towing and general yard activities. You’ll be joining a safety‑focused, practical team and will play an important part in ensuring the boatyard runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Requirements To be considered for this position, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in a practical, hands‑on operational role
- Strong awareness of health and safety and safe working practices
- Confidence working outdoors in all weather conditions and undertaking physical tasks
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience within a marina, boatyard or maritime environment (desirable)
- Experience of boat handling, lifting operations or operating boatyard plant (desirable)
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Any relevant plant or lifting equipment certification would be beneficial – training can be provided where appropriate
- Part time: 30 hours per week
- Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Flexibility required to support operational needs, including some weekend and Bank Holiday work
