We are looking for a sales executive to join a growing and energetic team for one of our trusted clients who speacialise in the distribution of some of the top brands in the dinghy yacht and motor power market.  
The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in sailing and be customer focused as the importance of offering a high level of support is key for this role.  This is not a simple sales roles but a much more client focussed role with a high touch element.  

At times this will feel like more a project management role working with some of the best brands in the market, be it in the manufacturing side, Oyster /Sunseeker /Princess etc right through to the cutting edge of the dinghy racing scene working with the likes of P&B/Ovington boats helping to project manager the fit our of the new bots to working with the chandlers Force 4/Rooster/ RS sailing etc. on new stock and new ideas.  
Such a wide ranging varied role means we are really looking for someone that has that passion and knowledge of the marine market/ yachting, sailing experience this is fundamental to the role.  
This is a national sales role and will require 2-3 days a week on the road/overnight stays this is entirely at your discretion as to what works and how it works.  
The company is a tight knit company with extremely low turnover of staff. (To be honest a very happy ship!) and has grown EVERY year in turnover and revenue. Taking over an existing well established client base this really is an exciting great role to stamp your mark on.  

In time if you wish to develop your own sales team underneath yourself then that opportunity Is absolutely there.  
The role comes with a higher than normal basic that reflects the PM high client touch aspect of the role. Tesla company car and an annual bonus of up to and normally 10%  

Ideally you will be in reach of the offices in Hertfordshire to go in as and when needed and possibly south coast based as essentially 75% of the work is around that area. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed annual revenue and margin sales targets, in line with company expectations. 

  • Create, and deliver against, a strategic territory sales plan, developing new opportunities, driving sales, and exceeding company and supplier expectations. 

  • Manage and regularly visit key customer accounts, ranging from chandleries to OEMs, with the aim of maximising sales opportunities with each of our channel partners. 

  • Use sales analysis tools to track customer performance, develop insight into supplier opportunities and maximise regional sales performance. 

  • Conduct sales demonstrations, deliver technical product training and, where applicable, provide technical sales support on a diverse marine product portfolio of new and existing suppliers. 

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of our market segment, our customers and our suppliers.  


Key Skills

  • Have experience in sales & account management. 

  • Possess strong marine sector knowledge or a technical sales background with yachting experience.

  • Are comfortable managing, building and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met. 

  • Strive to provide excellent customer service. 

  • Are motivated by achieving and exceeding targets, demonstrating a winning attitude
