Yacht Design Lead

Our client designs some of the most unique yachts for discerning clientele within the luxury market. They have an international team that comprises of over 40 designers from Stylists, Engineers to In-house CGI Artists all dedicated to creating their clients' dreams into reality.

As they continue to expand they are seeking passionate Yacht Design Lead to create stunning Interior and Exterior Designs bringing clients dreams to life. With a strong design background you will have a creative eye for detail and a strong portfolio of work. Taking the lead on designs creating awe-inspiring super yacht custom concepts.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of innovative, fully custom concepts and designs for yacht exteriors and interiors, including exterior and interior decks, GA’s, profile development, exterior design and styling, interior design and styling, custom furniture, décor, and materials in accordance with class requirements, client preferences, and art direction.
  • Produce and oversee sketches, drawings, GA’s, and idea/mood/style/materials boards to effectively communicate creative designs and directions to clients and art directors, and to brief designers, 3D modeller's, visualisers, and project participants.
  • Create and deliver presentations for all project stakeholders, including clients and management, manage the design development process, and maintain oversight and control of material samples, approvals, and required project documentation.
  • Efficiently and effectively execute projects in close collaboration with designers, modeller's, CGI artists, stylists, FF&E specialists, and design engineers as a project team leader, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee design-related input from external stakeholders, ensuring planning and performance align with contract requirements.

You will need:
  • Over 6-8 years of experience in creating top-tier designs with an impressive portfolio of projects ranging from 40-80 meter projects. 
  • Extensive knowledge of European shipyards, suppliers, manufacturers, production technology, class requirements, crew operations, and materials.
  • Professional organisation, communication, and presentation skills, with a strong focus on work flow and deadlines.
  • Full proficiency in Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Rhino, MS Office, and the English language.
  • Responsible, proactive, organised, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular bases. 
  • EU Citizens are desirable but for the right person sponsorship would be considered.
This position is full time in the office within a friendly and stunning office so you will need to reside in the Netherlands.
