Engineering role with amazing travel opportunity!

Our client based in Poole, currently have an opportunity for an experienced Marine Engineer to join the Warranty Field Services Team. The main aim of the role is to undertake warranty diagnosis and repairs for vessels in the field, as well as providing technical support to the department.

A key part of this role is creating rectification plans of required works, and the subsequent writing of formal engineering feedback reports during, and post work completion. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of fault diagnosis and repair in all aspects of marine engineering, to include a full and practical understanding of propulsion systems, specifically realignment of engines and all running gear.

Broad knowledge of luxury motor yachts, a solid and practical understanding of more general vessel systems, including main engine, generator and exhaust systems, and knowledge and practical abilities of AC/DC electrical circuits is required.

The position demands a highly self-motivated and flexible person, who is able to travel at short notice.

To be considered for this position you should have:

-An understanding of the importance of engineering health & safety, risk assessments, and build specifications related to engineering matters
-A proven track record of fault diagnoses in all aspects of marine engineering
-Ability to review bespoke H&S Risk Assessments to both actively and constructively ensure your personal safety at all times both in the Factories and in the Field
-A recognised Marine Engineering Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or equivalent
-Relevant experience with all aspects of mechanical installations including engines & generators, air-conditioning, hydraulic, fuel and water systems
-High degree of flexibility to working patterns for this unique, rapidly changing and challenging role
-An ability and willingness to support projects, which may not be engineering based
-Professionalism, excellent communication and people skills, as well as being able to liaise at all levels both internally, externally, and with Distributors and Customers
-Ability to provide a level of service commensurate with brand, but with due regard to Warranty Terms, Distributor Agreements and commercial considerations
-Availability to work predominantly overseas and at short notice
-Good literacy and I.T. skills to produce feedback reports in both Excel and Word, time sheet completion and expenses management, which are all self-managed
-A current passport, a full driving licence and the availability to travel worldwide
