Senior Project Manager, Superyacht Design

With a long history of ultra-high end design projects within the marine sector, this incredible brand has worked on some of the largest and most beautiful superyachts in the world. Their success has continued to evolve and now, as a result, they are increasing the size of their team to ensure they can maintain both their high quality of work and their increasing workload.
The Project Manager is responsible for their projects, managing both the internal and external teams to ensure the projects are delivered on time, in budget and to an incredibly high standard. The role includes managing, designing and helping to realise the creative team’s vision.
Experience with large superyacht projects is essential for this role with a large portfolio of finished projects. The senior level of this role requires this experience so you can use this knowledge to develop the broader team.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Creating, reviewing and adapting project planning and work schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Liaise coordinate and correspond with the shipyard, client managers, captains, naval architects and sub-contractors.
  • Effectively communicate and translate the interior or exterior design information to the Client and Shipyard.
  • Design the General Arrangement plans of existing projects and new proposals.
  • Working closely with the creative teams to meet the design brief.
  • Provide CAD drawings and 3D models to shipyard and/or subcontractor manufacturers.
  • Organise and supply information to visualisers.
  • Actively manage the client relationship, identifying issues and communicating effectively to the client and escalating when needed to the company principals, heads of department, MD and Board.
  • Prepare and present project meetings including overseas visits.
  • Reporting to the team principals at regular intervals on progress along with updating with project work both internally and at the shipyard.
  • Work with team principals to define the scope and budget for existing and potential client projects. Working closely with the head of finance to track project expenses and communicate progress on deliverables to ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Identify opportunities to develop existing client business, providing valuable advice and recommendations.
Skills & Abilities
  • A creative flair and excellent organisational skills & initiative.
  • Extensive experience as a project manager, having worked on and delivered superyacht projects.
  • Exceptional client and team relationship skills, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Eye for detail and a working knowledge of industry standards, and yacht codes.
  • Experience designing GA’s, 3D modelling, 2D drafting as well as some hand sketching would be desirable. A Portfolio is required for the application of this role.
  • Excellent IT skills, software knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop and planning software.
