Senior Engineer

Our client is looking for a new project manager to come on board and manage a series of new and existing customers providing them with quality composite parts. Working on larger company projects or running customer projects directly. This is a varied and exciting role working within a secure part of the Marine Industry that is always developing.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of projects through concept to delivery

  • Commercial responsibility & estimating

  • Account management of customers

  • Develop innovative manufacturing solutions for parts

  • Input into progress all new items, maintenance, and upkeep of BOM’s

  • Loading sales orders, ensuring delivery notes are provided for all projects

  • Establishing clear requirements for the project with the customer prior to commencement of manufacture

  • Preparing engineering management plans

  • Produce clear work instructions for manufacturing staff

  • Using direct procurement or delegating procurement activities ensuring materials are made available in a timely manner

  • Modify existing layup books and sign off sheets, reacting to quality issues and evolving parts

  • Working with quality team to ensure best practices

  • Project manage component manufacture through factory and working with external suppliers as necessary

  • Co-ordination of part manufacture on the shop-floor with production supervisors

  • Assistance with operating and maintaining shop-floor equipment such as Autoclaves and ovens

  • Maintain full and up to date knowledge of relevant technical and quality areas

  • Negotiation of variations to contract / job

  • Ensuring the accounts department are kept up to date with invoicing, WIP and assisting them with chasing overdue payments


The ideal candidate has:

  • Strong technical project management experience

  • Composite experience

  • Commercial Marine, Defence or Aerospace experience

  • Good communication skills with team members and clients

  • Be willing to travel internationally

  • Self-motivated, ability to prioritise workload


Desirable:

  • Educated to Degree level in Engineering

  • Experience with designing in Siemens NX or Solidworks

  • Naval experience
