Sales Office Manager - Marine Safety Experts - Solent area
This market leading company specialises in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipments.
The company has grown rapidly and boasts a diverse range of customers including ship and superyacht builders, round the world yacht racing, cruising yachts and the MOD.
The Role
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Customer Sales Team (currently a team of four), controlling and developing HQ-based sales and margin in line with Company standards of performance
Key Responsibilities
-Management of Sales Coordinators and internal sales procedures to assist and back up all external sales teams
-Implement outward telephone call plans to drive sales strategies
-Create a strong team ethic to ensure a 'can-do' attitude in day to day situations
-Report daily sales, tracking quotes and business opportunities
-work with training staff to ensure product knowledge is always maximised-Co-ordinate with Purchasing and Operations departments to ensure stock availability to satisfy orders
-Develop and implement sales plan that is focussed upon retaining and expanding business levels with existing customers and gaining new customers through proactive Business Development including outbound telesales
-Ensure targets are clearly understood by the team and met on a consistent basis.
-Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the Sales Director, external Key Account Managers and Operations in order to ensure effective co-ordination of sales activities.
-Continuously assess staff against identified performance criteria and address issues of performance and conduct by applying company policies.
-Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed.
-Build strong relationships internally with other stakeholder teams (Operations, Purchasing, Branding etc.)
-Ensure that customer orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner
-Ensure speedy and effective resolution to customer queries.
-Continually seek to improve communications between Branch functions to achieve highest levels of customer service
-Offer support and provide resolutions to customer pricing/invoicing queries
Your skills - Essential
-Sales team management experience
-Telephone/ Customer facing experience
-Outbound sales experience
-Educated to degree level or illustrate commensurate business experience (with eight years plus commercial experience)
-Exhibit good management skills including good verbal and written communications skills
-Computer literate-Ability to gain an in-depth knowledge of internal systems and be able to offer ideas to make improvements
-Knowledge of / interest in the marine sector (either through work or outside work interests)

-Experience working in the commercial or leisure marine sector
