We are recruiting for The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) – one of the world’s leading authorities in offshore yacht racing – which is seeking an experienced and dynamic Racing Manager to oversee its world-class racing programme. With a proud history dating back to 1925, RORC delivers the world’s biggest offshore racing series, including the iconic Rolex Fastnet Race, the Admiral’s Cup, and the RORC Season’s Points Championship.
As Racing Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering this prestigious calendar. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead the planning, organisation, and execution of RORC’s UK and international yacht racing events, ensuring they meet the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the RORC Racing Team and coordinating volunteers, contractors, and partner clubs.
  • Acting as Race Director for major events in the UK and overseas and overseeing all race documentation.
  • Managing budgets and financial planning for the racing programme.
  • Engaging with members, sponsors, stakeholders, and international racing organisations.
  • Representing RORC at a global level to maintain and grow its standing in the offshore racing community.
About you:
You’ll bring significant offshore racing experience alongside a proven track record in yacht racing events and team management. A confident leader and communicator, you’ll be comfortable managing complex logistics, tight deadlines, and diverse stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing and race management procedures is essential, as is the ability to deliver events to budget.

Desirable experience includes recognised race management qualifications, a good understanding of the IRC rating system, and experience working with international federations and governing bodies.
