Marine Resources are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Marine Mechanic/Fitter to join my client in Poole, Dorset.
You will be an experienced marine engineer with a focus on engine servicing and repairs. Ideally, the successful candidate will come from a dealership background but looking for the next step in their career and branching out into more varied work!
My client undertake vessel management and specialise in repairs and refits, taking projects from concept to completion, as well as provide dedicated annual maintenance and inspection reporting support under contract. The company has several refit projects of their own as well as clients boats underway at any one time.
My client is UK based but also operates in the South of France, meaning you’ll get the opportunity to travel to Europe regularly.
Tasks may include:
- Completing a wide array of work from engine servicing to full re-fits.
- Installing upholstery, electronics, deck fittings and other parts.
- Cleaning and polishing where needed.
- Repairs to varying materials including GRP wood
- Ordering parts required and coordinate to keep re-fit projects on schedule.
- Assisting in the coordination of the sub-contractors and assuring projects are completed in good time and on budget.
- Completing some light administrative tasks, including work reports and assisting with quotations.
- The role will include travel (normally within Europe) for periods of time. A work vehicle will be provided for work use only.
- Must have a clean driving licence & happy driving in Europe (trailer towing an advantage)
- Must have a valid passport
- Good organisation and communication skills are crucial. Smart and presentable appearance is required at all time, as you will be representing the company.
- A wide variety of experience is preferred, but not critical. A single area of expertise and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
