Marine Resources are pleased to be seeking an energetic lead boat builder/charge hand to join our client who are a rapidly growing, world leading advanced maritime technology group based in Portsmouth.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the build and manufacture of vessels.
  • Manage and develop the team to become a well organised, efficient and focused build team.
  • Working with the design and development teams to produce the final product.
  • Capable of leading in the assembly and fit out of craft.
  • Ideally with experience in more than one vein of engineering such as; Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Fuel, Electrical components, Drivetrain, Raw water and other marine systems
  • Working flexibly with the engineering and operations teams to ensure the vessels are ready and complete for tests and trials.
  • Understanding and capability of manufacturing composite components.
  • Leading the implementation of the highest safety standards for build and manufacture.
  • Working collaboratively with established partner organisations to deliver robust integration of build plans within defined timelines.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
▪ A proven track record in the manufacture of complex marine vessels would be an advantage.
▪ Demonstrable history of excellent technical communication, both written and verbal
▪ Maritime experience is essential, but whatever your track record, high levels of technical expertise, personal drive and strong communication skills are particularly important.
▪ Experience of safe assembly and testing of pressure systems, including fluid power
▪ Unafraid to challenge the team and utilise relevant experience to drive towards the highest quality engineering output.
▪ A proactive individual with strong commitment and self-motivation to be able to lead test and validation activities.
▪ Willingness to embrace innovation and creativity.
▪ Any additional qualifications or certifications in the areas of safety, lifting, process advantageous.
▪ Degree qualified with a relevant discipline (Engineering / Naval) would be advantageous.
