A Leading Small Crafts company is currently looking for a new Junior Designer to join their team. They are ideally looking for someone with a creative flair who is also interested in detailed design and creating production drawings for their work to come to life! Some one with a  “hands – on” approach to problem solving, to identify and become involved with product development and production line improvements.
 
You will be apart of a small development department and have a strong underlying understanding or a willingness to learn about design, materials, surfacing and ergonomics, together with manufacturing processes and procedures common in automotive and Marine industry sectors.
 
  • Assist design & development of projects
  • Communicate concept idea through hand sketches
  • Provide technical support to production and sales departments
  • Liaise on technical matters with component suppliers
  • Produce, maintain and manage technical assembly and manufacturing drawings
  • Production and control of Bill of Materials (BOM’s)
 
You be able to get involved in
  • Involvement in product on-water testing
  • Assist in the building and testing of prototypes from concept to pre-production stage
 
You will ideally have
  • Formal vehicle or product design education to Degree level
  • Ability to generate hand sketches
  • 3D CAD literate preferably Solidworks / NX but not essential as well as MS office & Adobe suites
  • Understanding of general engineering and electrical systems an advantage
  • Understanding of a wide range of manufacturing processes common to automotive and marine industries
  • Familiarisation with various moulding techniques / laminate schedules is an advantage
