This is a hugely exciting and pivotal role working for a well established company that has grown significantly over the past 5 years and has ambitious plans to continue this growth trajectory.
The company has c130 permanent employees and is supported by c120 casual employees through the season. People are the key asset of the business and the key role of the People Manager is to support and develop our employees.
The People Manager will be responsible for enhancing existing systems in relation to recruitment and managing people. In addition, the People Manager will support the managers in the implementation of these systems through training and development, as well as attending all interviews and working with the Managers in managing employees performance and development.
The People Manager will provide training where appropriate, but also develop training systems, working with the Technical Manager and external providers as required. The People Manager will drive the organisations culture through their work incorporating incentives, leadership and employee wellness.
This is a multi-faceted people development/HR role ranging from developing training strategies to writing of practices and procedures to working with the Marina Operations team to drive the people strategy and implement a people first culture across the whole employee lifecycle, looking at how the firm recruits recruit, develop and retain highly engaged employees and offboard ineffective employees.
A super role for someone that does not want to be office bound but out there engaged and developing the business and given the autonomy to do so. The group is a multi site function as as such there will be significant travel at time across the UK (although mainly midlands based) to visit the sites support the marina managers.

  • Knowledge of employment law and capability to handle confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy.
 
  • Able to support with performance management, training and development and deliver advice to managers on all employee relations and absence cases.
 
  • Able to champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of a high quality and deliver new joiners inductions.
 
  • Broad understanding of the Human Resources function. Minimum 2 years experience in similar role.
 
  • Must hold a Full UK Driving license.
