General manager/Head of Brokerage

Marine Resources in partnership with the Boatfolk group is looking for a general manager to work as part of the SMT across the wider group in addtion to full P&L responsibility for the brokerage business.(Boatpoint). 
The group as a whole is moving from strength to strength and currently this is the fastest growing brokerage and marina services business in the UK.
After a wonderfully successful stint the current incumbent is stepping down leaving the business in an extremely healthy state with over 400 boats sold on a yearly basis and ambitious plans in place to help drive the business and the Boatfolk group to the next level.

As such we are looking for a real ‘disrupter’ the right candidate will have strong senior experience and possess demonstrable leadership skills ideally coming from either the yacht manufacturing or the brokerage side (however we will consider other relevant areas.)Someone that comes with passion, drive, verve and the ability to bring ideas, plan and create strategy working as part of the Senior management team reporting directly into the group managing director.
About You:

• You will be an experienced leader in the UK boat sales community, with a passion for boats, boating and delivering great customer experience

• You will be a proven salesperson with excellent sales and negotiation skills

• You will work calmly under pressure, with great planning and organisation skills

• You will be comfortable leading a team, and helping developed their skills and careers

• You will be used to preparing budgets, writing reports, and reviewing financial information

• A practical and can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck-in as part of the team is a must.

 The role will include:
 Developing the strategy for boatpoint, in line with the overall group strategy, to grow our presence in the brokerage and new boat sales markets

• Leading the team of brokers around the UK

• Developing our relationships with leading boat brands around the UK, Europe and elsewhere

• Working closely with the other divisions of boatfolk, to ensure a first class customer experience, across the range of activities we do, ranging from berthing to boat repairs, to food and beverage
