We are currently working with an esteemed yacht club, renowned for its exceptional facilities and vibrant sailing community, to find a highly skilled and experienced General Manager. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of club operations, managing staff and member relations, and ensuring the financial sustainability and future success of the club.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Club Operations: Utilise your strong operational expertise to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the yacht club, ensuring all activities run efficiently and in compliance with regulations and club policies.
  • Financial Management: Apply your financial acumen to collaborate with the Honorary Treasurer and General Committee, developing and managing the club's budget, monitoring expenses, and implementing financial controls for optimal financial performance.
  • Member Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with club members, addressing their concerns, managing feedback, and organising engaging club events and activities to enhance member satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Staff Management: Showcase your leadership skills by recruiting, training, and managing a diverse team of staff, fostering a culture of excellence in customer service, and ensuring staff members are motivated, well-trained, and committed to delivering an exceptional experience to club members and guests.
  • Facility Maintenance and Development: Oversee the maintenance, repairs, and development of the club's facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to UK legislation, safety standards, environmental regulations, and licensing requirements, maintaining accurate records to support compliance and providing a safe and legally compliant environment for all club activities.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Flag Officers and General Committee to develop and implement strategic plans, identify growth opportunities, and enhance the club's reputation and financial performance in the yachting industry.
 
Key Skills:
  • Exceptional leadership skills to guide and motivate staff towards achieving club goals and maintaining a high level of service.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with club members, staff, and stakeholders, addressing concerns, conveying information clearly, and listening attentively.
  • Knowledge of the yachting industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices, enabling you to make informed decisions and provide relevant advice to the club's leadership.
