Marine Resources are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer for one of the marine industries leading manufacturing businesses.

General Description:
 
Your responsibilities will include equipment maintenance, project management, and ensuring workplace safety and functionality.

The Facilities Engineer will have plenty of autonomy and take a leading role in overseeing factory and facility-based maintenance and ensuring optimum engineering performance across the site. Ensuring that the premises meets Health & Safety requirements and comply with legislation, keeping the site safe for employees & visitors.
 
Main Duties:
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety & statutory requirements are carried out in a timely manner and all records are kept up to date.
  • Management of all contractors including RAMS. Checking and agreeing satisfactory completion of any third-party work and follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Management of facility infrastructure projects.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and reactive tasks on all areas of the production facility, offices, outside spaces and communal areas.
  • Responsible for all planned preventative maintenance contracts including but not limited to the company’s lifting equipment (hoists and FLT’s), compressed air system, heating system, security and fire alarms. Ensuring where necessary that equipment is certified and safe for use.
  • Regular checks of internal & external areas for any potential dangers/hazards and the monitoring of fire exits and routes of escape.
  • Scheduled emergency lighting checks & maintenance.
  • Regular review of waste management ensuring that the waste stream skips are suitable. Site sustainability stake holder.
  • Responsibility for site cleanliness including contract cleaners & waste management.
  • Overall responsibility for site security. Start & end of shift.
  • Keep accurate records of service and maintenance.
  • Liaise with the landlord regarding structural repairs etc e.g. roof leaks.
  • Monitoring and replenishment of heating fuel.
  • Emergency “ON CALL” including alarm call out.
  • Multi-site facility responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Facilities Engineer role or similar.
  • Capable of carrying out basic building repairs and maintenance.
  • Competent use of electrical/mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Experience in managing small teams and scheduling tasks.
  • Relevant Electrical Engineering and mechanical qualifications.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • A good understanding of modern health and safety practices.
  • Fork lift license (counter balance) desirable.
 
Key holder position.
 
This is a hands-on physical role and as such the post holder will be expected to undertake bending and lifting in the course of their duties.
