Marine Resources are pleased to offer the opportunity of commissioning Electrician for one of our long standing clients in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the world’s finest yachts on the water, get out sailing and have your work admired the world over.
 
The Commissioning Electrician will be supporting the Commissioning team through all aspects of the Commissioning process. The role will be based in Ipswich and report directly to the Commissioning Manager. You will also assist with other areas of production and liaise with various other departments as required. There may at times be the requirement to travel including overnight stays and overseas trips.

Principle Job Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring our luxury cruising yachts are finished to our clients high standards and that all electrical work is completed prior to handover to the yacht’s owner.
 
General Requirements of the Role
  • Assist Commissioning Skippers in identifying any electrical issues in new yachts and providing solutions
  • Rectify any electrical or electronic defects prior to handover
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the correct quality standards and follows best practice
  • Assist Commissioning team with other duties including, but not limited to boat cleaning, site maintenance, trial sails and yacht deliveries
  • Co-ordinate with the Production & Design Improvement Processes
  • Assist in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
  • To be responsible for all personal and professional development
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required
 
The Person
Essential
  • Robust and broad marine electrical knowledge
  • To have a high knowledge and experience with AC/DC systems
  • To have a knowledge and experience with Audio Visual and Navigation systems
  • To be able to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • To have practical problem-solving abilities with a high standard of finish
  • To have good organisational skills and aptitude for applying technical knowledge practically
  • To be able to work with different voltages (international)
  • Able to work to schedule within a fast-paced environment
  • Methodical approach to work
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
 
Desirable
  • Knowledge of networking and system interfacing
  • Experience with cZone and Mastervolt installations
  • Engineering skills
  • Sailing experience
