Marine resources are seeking an experienced engineering manager ideally with a marine background, with a passion to ensure our clients fleet of boats and equipment are always maintained to a high standard.

This role is home based - predominantly covering Berwick-upon-Tweed to Humber however, travel throughout the North and East region and the UK will be required.
Your Role

As a Coastal Maintenance Manager, you will lead a team of technical support to the Region responsible for scheduling, coordinating and financially controlling all planned and unplanned maintenance and repair activities of our clients plant and associated equipment, carried out by either the our clients staff or contractors within the region.
  • Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of coastal maintenance across the region.
  • Manage preventative, corrective repairs and modifications of plant and equipment carried out either on station or at an appropriate contractors’ facility and ensure that the appropriate records are completed in accordance with current procedures.
  • Line manage a team of specialist technicians and engineers, prioritising and managing the workload of these staff.
  • To control, manage and be responsible for budgets/finances associated with the repair and maintenance of plant for the region.
About You
You’ll be an effective team player, with good people skills that welcomes responsibility. You will be someone who works well under pressure whilst planning, co-ordinating and reporting. You will be prepared to meet stretched targets and have sound financial awareness.
You must also be prepared to travel as part of the role including evenings away from home.

To be considered as the Coastal Maintenance Manager, the below are heavily desirable:
  • HNC/D or equivalent experience and a time-served apprenticeship in a technical discipline and vocational level 4 or equivalent in Management.
  • Excellent Communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven experience of delivering solutions on time and within budget.
  • Experience of Performance & Development target setting and review
  • Experience of using Microsoft AX (or equivalent).
  • Experience of equipment maintenance and repair within both the marine and plant equipment.
  • Experience of working with other stakeholders (internal or external).
This post requires a valid driving licence.

As this is a sea-going appointment, you will need to satisfy the institution's medical and eyesight standards.
