An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager has arisen for our dynamic client, focusing on developing clean propulsion systems for marine applications. This is a full time permanent position based in Fareham.

Role Objective
We are looking for a passionate and high-performing Engineering Manager to lead a team of systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers. The role focuses on delivering high-quality engineering to support the company’s mission of developing world-class, safe electric propulsion systems. Additionally, the Engineering Team Leader will oversee the company's IT infrastructure and lead the company in all aspects of Quality Management.
The role will involve advising the leadership team on technical matters, ensuring the on-time, on-budget delivery of objectives in a fast-paced, regulated market. The successful candidate will leverage the latest engineering technologies to develop safe products and systems that enable early market access.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver engineering excellence
Manage the engineering team, workload scheduling, training, and ensuring adherence to best practices
Commit to meeting project timelines and objectives
Support company strategy by aligning with both long- and short-term goals
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and use resources efficiently
Oversee and improve operational activities to ensure the company is structured for future growth
Report progress to the leadership team and external stakeholders
Provide technical input to customers and clients on projects
IT Lead
Oversee the company’s technological infrastructure to support business goals
Identify IT needs, oversee system design, and plan for growth
Identify and implement technologies to improve operations and products
Ensure legal compliance with technological processes
Quality Lead
Develop and review Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
Implement improvements and ensure company-wide adoption
Lead company audits and ISO certification efforts
Set and monitor quality requirements with suppliers and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Maintain necessary documentation for audits
Person Specification:
Experience in taking a product from R&D to production, with expertise in testing, certification, and quality standards
Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., marine, automotive, aerospace) with knowledge of powertrain, propulsion, hybrid, and electric vehicle systems
Engineering degree
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
Willingness to stay up-to-date with technological advances
Experience in developing highly technical systems in regulated industries
Hands-on experience in the development of electrical, electronic, or systems-based products
Proven track record in modern manufacturing methods
