RYA Senior Instructor for Dinghy and Powerboat courses
Role
Leading the Sailing School activity sessions and assisting with peer training and development.
• Organise, supervise, and assist a team of Instructors, to ensure all courses/sessions run smoothly and properly
• Run sessions in accordance with the RYA scheme standards
• Provide a high level of safety and instruction for guests and staff on the waterfront
• Liaise between Sailing manager and sailing instructor team
• Organise day-to-day staff requirements to include supervision, training, development
• Produce a course plan accommodating all guest abilities
• Oversee Race days and prize-giving
• Establish and implement water safety precautions
• Partake in additional responsibilities including safety cover, customer service, shore-based duties, and pontoon management
• Assist with maintenance, security and upkeep of the sailing department and its equipment
• Assist in the Rescue and towing of yachts back to their berth in the marina
Qualifications - essential
RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor essential
RYA advanced Powerboat Instructor
First Aid certificate valid for the duration of the contract
Working knowledge of teaching sailing to beginners and experienced sailors, individually or in groups
Two years previous experience as a Senior Instructor or related position
Qualifications - desirable
Experience of Foiling, Keelboat, Advanced, start racing and race coach training
