Naval Architect
A leading engineering design studio based in the UK is looking to expand their Naval Architecture team after continued success in the industry. The successful individual will report directly to Principal Engineer and will have a strong all-round background.
Key Skills:
• Problem solving skills & commercial awareness
• Good communication skills; liaising and collaborating across all departments
• Advanced level in 2D (AutoCAD) & in 2D/3D CAD and other specialist software
• Working knowledge of Classifications and Flag rule sets
• Working knowledge of ship structural design & ship systems design
Key Tasks:
• Carry out detailed drawing work and engineering design calculations
• Follow project instructions to ensure project deadlines are met within budget and time constraints and completely with sufficient level of detail
• Ensure all drawings meet industry standard & ensure all work is completed to internal quality standards
• Liaising with classification societies and authority standards
• Liaising with customers and clients to answer any queries
• Attending conferences and training where appropriate
The right individual for this role would have worked in a similar environment with 4 - 5 years' experience within the marine sector. As the role involved travel both within the UK & Europe, a flexible approach is taken with working hours.
