Mechanical foreman

Marine Resourceshas an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Foreman based in Avon.

Job Title: Foreman
Location: Avonmouth
Reports to: General Manager


Purpose of Job
The Foreman is responsible for co-ordinating and supervising the work of production staff, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required. This involves ensuring all Company and legal regulations are implemented, that all required documentation is completed as necessary and recording daily work on site.

Principle Duties

1.Supervise and monitor the work undertaken by production staff, ensuring the required quality and safety standards are met whilst ensuring good time keeping and conduct of staff.
2.Monitor and control the hours, materials, consumables and equipment to complete the work on time and on budget.
3.Conduct regular progress reporting as instructed by the General Manager.
4.Assist as required to undertake surveys and quotations as requested by the General Manager.
5.Prior to commencement of works ensure all relevant RAMS have been submitted and agreed by the client and relevant Permits (Hot Works, Permits to Work etc. are prepared as required.


Qualifications for the position of Foreman

• Substantial experience and technical knowledge in your department skill/trade set.
§Good communication skills including spoken and written English and must be able to communicate in a cordial manner.
§Full UK driving licence.
§Must have good demonstrable organisational skills.
§Must be able to interpret technical drawings, schematic parts manuals and diagrams and associated technical data & specifications.
§Must have relevant experience in the supervision of personnel to include the monitoring of work output & quality

Safety Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that you and all employees under your control work safely and comply with all current and relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
You are responsible for ensuring that employees implement safe systems of work according to SMS procedures.
You are responsible for ensuring your own safety and that of the employees under your control and of visitors and the general public when on SMS property.
You must adhere to all criteria relating to the Company Substance Misuse policy.
You must ensure that accidents, incidents and near misses to you or staff under your control are reported and recorded and that the accident book is completed promptly.
