Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a role that offers variety, stability, and the chance to work on a wide range of equipment? We’re looking for a skilled engineer to join our team and support the maintenance and repair of essential plant and machinery in Portsmouth Naval Base.

What you’ll be doing You’ll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse mix of equipment, including:

  • Building strong relationships with colleagues and customers, ensuring their needs are met

  • Taking part in an on-call rota to provide additional support when required

This is a role where you’ll be trusted to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team, with the scope to use your initiative and problem-solving skills daily.

What we’re looking for We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally on plant and equipment such as FLTs and cranes

  • Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to provide clear and accurate reports

  • A good understanding of safe systems of work and health & safety best practice

  • IT literacy and confidence using mobile technology

  • A proactive, flexible approach with a “can-do” attitude

Industry qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds would be an advantage, but equivalent experience will be considered.

What’s in it for you? Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a great benefits package including:

  • Enhanced pension scheme and life assurance

  • Employee rewards, discounts, and wellbeing services

  • Cycle to work scheme and income protection

  • Flexible parental benefits

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities

  • Recognition and reward programmes
