We're looking for a Facilities Heating and Combustion Technician to join my clients facilities team.

This position and team is based in Poole, primarily looking after our largest site of seven buildings.


Salary £32,964 - £37,909 (dependent on experience)
26 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays

Your Role

As a hands-on Muliti-Skilled Heating, Plumbing, Mechanical and Combustion Technician you will provide specialist technical expertise to support the Facilities team in providing an appropriate built environment for all staff and vistitors on the Poole site.

You will also:

Be the go-to Multi-Skilled site Heating, Plumbing, Mechanical and Combustion technician responsible for proactively carrying out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and proactively addressing reactive calls via the helpdesk.
Planning new installations with either self-completion or technical supervision of specialist contractors.
Responsible for maintaining the site holding of mechanical, plumbing and gas critical spares.
Where your skill set allows, proactively contribute to the operational position of a multi-skilled building services technician and assist colleagues within other trade disciplines both technical and fabric.
Manage your own workload with reference to the reactive helpdesk and PPM's.
Manage procurement of material's through active engagement with suppliers.
Identify energy saving initiatives and implement opportunities to reduce energy consumption. Monitor and make alterations to temperature and plant controls via a BMS system. Ensure energy saving BMS controls are working in accordance with best practice.
Be willing to engage in further training including the updating of job specific refresher training.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a service environment. You will need to have a pragmatic, positive approach to the job and towards customers. You will work proactively with a can do attitude and engage comfortably with colleagues and end users ensuring good communication is maintained between yourself, end users and management. To be considered as the Facilities Heating and Combustion Technician you will need:

Essential - Commercial and Domestic gas ACS competency qualification, Commercial plumbing experience, Experience in air handling unit/ventilation systems maintenance and fault finding, NVQ level 2 or higher in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent in relevant trade/skill.
Time served apprentice, with post apprenticeship work experience.
Full driving licence.
Desirable - Electrical qualification, IPAF, PASMA, , Asbestos awarenesss, Legionella Awareness Training, Building management systems user training,unvented water heater systems
Experience required: Commercial gas appliance servicing and repair, Commercial Plumbing, Building management systems controls experience, Legionella compliance, HVAC, mechanical and electrical related service
