The Facilities department supports the my client through providing a safe and healthy workplace in the built environment, ensuring our properties are adequately maintained to support organisational objectives.

This position and team is based in Poole, primarily looking after their largest site of seven buildings.

About the Role

As a hands-on Muliti-Skilled Refrigeration and A/C Technician, you will provide specialist technical expertise to support the Facilities team in providing an appropriate built environment for all staff, visitors and volunteers on the Poole site.

You will also:

Be the go-to Multi-Skilled site A/C, Refrigeration and ventilation technician, responsible for proactively carrying out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and proactively addressing reactive calls via the helpdesk.
Plan new installations with either self-completion or technical supervision of specialist contractors
Where your skill set allows, proactively contribute to the operational position of a multi-skilled building services technician and assist colleagues within other trade disciplines both technical and fabric.
Manage your own workload with reference to the reactive helpdesk an PPM's
Manage procurement of material's through active engagement with suppliers
Maintain a professional standard of record keeping for F-Gas documentation together with all other statutory documentation required to be maintained within the scope of a Multi Skilled Technician
Be willing to engage in further training including the updating of job specific refresher training

There will also be a requirement to be part of an on-call rota ensuring operational cover for weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a service environment and has a pragmatic, positive approach to the job with an understanding of the importance of customer facing and engaging service.

To be considered as the Facilities Refrigeration and A/C Technician you will need:

Essential - F gas qualification City & Guilds 2079 Category 1, NVQ level 2 or higher in refrigeration and air conditioning. Experience in air handling unit/ventilation systems maintenance and fault finding
Time served apprentice, post apprenticeship work experience.
Full driving licence.
Desirable - Electrical qualification, IPAF, PASMA, Daikin/Mitsubishi VRV/VRF experience, Asbestos awareness, Legionella Awareness, Building management systems user training, General plumbing skills.
Experienced required: VRV/VRF air conditioning, catering refrigeration, Building management controls experience, , general HVAC and mechanical and electrical services.
