JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client provide hydraulic products & solutions to yacht manufacturers.
They currently have an opening for an experienced Marine Project Engineer to be based from their Head Office, or on the South coast. The successful applicant will also work within a Sales role, and be confident working in a client facing role.

Responsibilities

1.     To project manage marine opportunities from the enquiry through to successful commissioning with all of the associated documentation.

2.     Work closely with the customer to manage and meet expectations

3.     Responsibility for all stages of marine projects

            a.     Enquiry
            b.     Conception
            c.     Costing  
            d.     Sales Proposal and follow up
            e.     Project Plan
            f.      Design
            g.     Documentation
            h.     Manufacture
            i.      Testing
            j.      Delivery
            k.     Commissioning
            l.      Back Costing of solution
            m.    Ongoing support

4.     Assume responsibility to maintain product and industry knowledge to ensure that our client  is at the forefront of hydraulic product and service delivery to the marine industry.

5.     Ensure that solutions are innovative, modern and competitive.

6.     Develop new products and solutions hopefully ahead of market trends

7.     Research and develop competitor information to create an overview of competitor designs, range and costs. Look to develop competitive more cost effective solutions.

8.     Liaise with the Project Engineer to ensure that the required hydraulic solutions to all products are marine friendly, robust and the best that they can be.

9.     Initiate constant improvements to ensure our client stays ahead of the competition. Provide direction and promotion of new more efficient and effective working practises.

10.   Attend meetings and report on your department. Specifically meet once a month with the Sales & Marketing Manager to discuss and progress issues relating to the marine projects.

11.   Liaise with customers and the rest of the team on all matters relating to Marine Project build, service, repairs, engineering and installation.

Skills

•    Marine Engineering Background
•    Qualifications in Engineering & Design
•    Knowledge of design/modelling packages - primarily solid works
•    Customer Facing Communication skills - sales experience preferred.
•    Project Management Skills
•    IT Skills – Microsoft office / OGL

SALARY 

£30,000 - £35,0000 negotiable
