Area Sales Rep/Business Development Manager required to join an established distributor of technical products to the marine trade. Supplying market-leading global brands you will assist clients throughout the North and East of the UK with your technical knowledge and support.
Knowledge of sailing across all disciplines is essential and Area Sales expertise is preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to travel around the UK, covering both the North and the East of England, selling the entire catalogue of products to their current network of marine trade clients as well as seeking out new business and reporting back to HQ.
Covering a large geographic area, expect to spend nights away on a regular basis and up to 4.5 days a week travelling. The applicant will need to be well-organised to plan and maximise the number of visits they schedule. The rest of your time will be spent following up on quotes and leads.
Training on the product range will be provided.
Organise country-wide customer appointments and carefully schedule routes accordingly
Generate leads and increase sales
Open and develop new accounts whilst developing existing client base
Identify new markets for our products
Be an ambassador for the business, visiting customers and potential customers to generate sales of products
Provide customers with technical support and quotations and follow up on these.
Attend Boat Shows, Trade Fairs, Customer Open-days
Complete admin as required on a weekly and monthly basis.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, trustworthy, driven and hungry sales professional. It is essential that you are technically minded, practical and highly organized preferably with a strong sailing background in both dinghies and yachts, comfortable and knowledgeable with rigging equipment, technical, marine products and able to make repairs or diagnose issues as part of the customer service.
