Naval Architect/Marine Engineer – Large yacht

Any Region

UK - £55-60,000

Job Reference: 4226

Do you have a longstanding history as a Naval Architect or Marine Engineer within the commercial shipbuilding or large yacht (50m+) world? Are you keen to join one of the market leaders in new build craft?

We're working with a brand known for offering only best in terms of quality and ability, who are seeking a highly skilled technical individual to join their team as they continue to get busier in a very competitive market. Based in the UK, they operate worldwide, with teams at shipyards globally. This particular opportunity would join the UK team but would include worldwide travel to visit both yards and clients.

This will be a very multi-faceted role, including such duties as:

– Naval Architecture – Working with owners supplied design work, ensuring design falls in line with classification (MCA/RINA/Lloyds), aligns with shipyard expectations and will allow for the new craft to be build to very exacting standards

– Project Co-Ordination – Whilst you're predominantly based in the UK, you'll be expected to co-ordinate the project from a design side, which will no doubt involve some travel to designers and shipyards in order to ensure the project is seen through to completion

– Owner Interaction – You'll of course work on behalf of your employer, but it will imperative throughout the process that you'll have direct contact with the owner and also the shipyard.

As an individual you'll be fully degree/MSc qualified in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and hold chartered status. Your experience will have been gained through either commercial shipbuilding or very large yacht construction and you'll be confident working at all levels. You'll be happy to speak in non-technical terms with an owner, but the next minute in full technical with the shipyard.

An ability to travel internationally without boundrary is key, as is ideally a grasp of further foreign languages. In return, you'll be joining a brand that sees no limits in terms of growth and new projects, offering one of the best working environments on the market.
