  Green Is The New Black

With the government  setting targets for  the percentage of UK electricity generated by renewable energy sources required to be at 15.4% by 2015 all eyes have turned to the snowballing growth of the off shore windfarm.

With over 30 new offshore wind farms in planning across the UK the potential for renewable energy is unlimited, the London Array wind farm plans alone, positioned 12miles off the Kent and Essex coast, comprising of 341 turbines that are to be constructed over a 4 year period will generate 1000MW , this will be able to meet the electricity needs of 750,000 homes, the equivalent of all the homes in Kent and East Sussex.

Not only significantly reducing the UK’s carbon footprint, this new green era brings an exciting opportunity for new jobs, with the potential to create 70, 000 jobs by 2020 the marine industry is set to capitalise on this. From Engineers and Designers to Electricians and Project managers we believe our candidates have the transferable skills needed within the renewables sector and Marine Resources will be striving to seek out the strongest candidates for the top roles.
