JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is the specialist composite division of one of the largest dedicated composite components building materials manufacturer in the UK.

They provide quick and effective solution to composite component manufacture; in closed mould, resin infusion, vacuum bagging and traditional hand laminate techniques

As a supplier to leading UK and international brand name companies in the Marine, Home Improvement and Construction markets, they have developed skills within both high quality precision tool production and volume component manufacture

Following continued development and expansion of their R&D department they are now looking for experienced laminators with sound technical and composite experience; ideally you will have at least four years trade experience

The main tasks of an R & D Senior Laminator are to effectively and efficiently work within the production and maintenance of all patterns, plugs, parts and moulds associated with their products and practices.

You will be required:
To undertake samples and prototype components for the company and clients
To closely follow working procedures, CAD drawings and instructions – both written and verbal
To accurately record process information and material details

You will be responsible for:
Working as part of a close team ensuring self discipline, good time keeping, and an excellent health & safety attitude;
At times you be asked to train less experienced members of the team as particular projects arise.

Work as part of a close dedicated team to ensure that any research and development project, mould, part or plug is carried out in accordance with The Company Operating Practices

To have an interest in developing own skills through training and personal in-house development

To utilize your wide ranging composites processing skills to benefit the department as required

An ideal candidate will have a keen interest in composites, have good attention to detail, be inventive and be adept at problem solving

Essential key skills required for this role:

Well developed composite materials & processing knowledge – Including:
Prepreg & Sprint.
Aramid, E, S & R glass.
RTML, vacuum bagging & resin infusion.
High & low temperature tooling & post curing.
Plug & pattern making.
In-depth resins & reinforcements knowledge.
Structural cores.
Varied composites working background.
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety.
Proven team worker.
Clear thinker with good communication skills.
High level of attention to detail.


SALARY

£9.00 to £12.00 p/h – Depending On Experience
