JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Overseeing a team of Engineers ensuring all company and statutory legislation is adhered to and ensuring all work carried out is to the highest standard at all times.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

o To service all engines within the fleet, ensuring that any work carried out is fully reported on in line with all company and statutory Health and Safety regulations.

o To ensure that all consumable parts are ordered in line with the maintenance requirements and engineering budget.

o To ensure that all preventative maintenance is planned in liaison with the Mechanical and Technical Director of Engineering and that all works are carried out by the team.

o Maintain all files and reports on work carried out, ensuring that any legal requirements are adhered to and that all maintenance files are available to audit as and when required

o Alongside the Mechanical and Technical Director, ensure that all shifts are covered to the correct staffing levels.

o Prepare and distribute the rotas and shift details for all engineering staff.

o To provide support and training for the team where necessary.

o To oversee all maintenance staff, dealing with any recruitment, training or employee relations issues alongside the Human Solutions team.

o Ensure all craft are kept in service wherever possible, by ensuring effective and efficient maintenance is carried out at all times by prioritising maintenance and where possible, carrying this out during ‘down time’.

o To undertake all mechanical repairs to the vessels whilst they are being serviced.

o Carry out planned, preventative maintenance on vessels as instructed by the Chief Engineer and / or the Mechanical and Technical Director of Engineering.

o Ensure that the correct uniform and safety equipment provided is worn at all times.

o Ensure that all equipment used is kept clean and replaced at the end of shift, to ensure all teams have access to the correct equipment to be used.

o Work as part of a full engineering team, ensuring that all work carried out is reported to the Chief Engineer and / or the Mechanical and Technical Director of Engineering.

o Ensure and maintain a safe and tidy working environment for the individual and the wider team.

o Assist in developing and maintaining effective team work within departments and offices of AEG worldwideo Provide and promote the highest level of customer service

o Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance

o Ensure that you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe working practice as required by current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and practices

o Ensure that all relevant information is communicated speedily and accurately in a way that ensures that the information is received and easily understood

o Ensure that all materials and resources are effectively and efficiently utilised to minimise waste and reduce costs

o Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested by the x Director and any member of the senior management team

KEY SKILLS:

Essential

o Relevant experience of working on large diesel engines such as boats or lorries

o Relevant experience of working in high pressure environments (able to get vessels back in service quickly where possible)

o Effective communicator and report writero Able to work varying shift patterns

o Positive with a “can do” attitude

o Team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment

o A commitment to delivering the best


SALARY

£35,000 + Various benefits.
