JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is the UK’s leading yacht repair ship yard. They are currently recruiting for an experienced manager with boatbuilding, project management or Engineering experience to manage the day to day operations of their revolutionary new sophisticated spraying facility.

The facility offers a variety of services including complete re-sprays with AwlGrip or International 2 pack polyurethane paints, to small components and repairs, varnishing and antifouling.

Some of the roles involved with this important position are:

- Following up enquiries from customers
- Liaising with paint manufacturers regarding specifications & application data
- Viewing boats to draw up technical specification
- Quoting customers
- Obtaining signed orders & deposit payments
- Managing labour & materials for all painting jobs
- Scheduling work through 4 x spray paint booths & 1 x blasting booth
- Managing all painting projects
- Managing paint compatibility & adhesion tests
- Recording paint application data
- Invoicing & the collection of payment
- Day to day man management of painting team of 7 x skilled painters & 2 x apprentices
- Organizing cleanliness, housekeeping, service & maintenance or repairs of all painting equipment & paint facilities.

The successful candidate does not necessarily have to be an experienced sprayer or paint shop manager but does have to have some experience of sprayed paint systems, and will ideally come from a boatbuilding, build or refit project management or engineering background. Candidates must also have experience of dealing with customers as well as experience in man management. Also desirable is some previous experience of administration.
