Our client is a family owned company established in 1974 with its head office in Kent. They Employ 42 people with a current turnover of £10 million per annum. Their main activities are the sales, service and supply of spares of propulsion systems including marine gears and control systems to the pleasure and commercial marine markets. Additionally sales of drivelines to the quarry, locomotive markets, specialised markets such as airport crash fire tenders, military vehicles and vessels. UK customers include some of the countries most well know marine brand names.
They are now recruting for a Commercial Marine Sales Manager to be responsible for the sales of commercial marine propulsion systems including CPP systems, heavy duty marine gear, control systems and auxiliary equipment for vessels using engines up to 4000hp. Reacting to enquiries generated by company activities or by visit, telephone, email, trade shows etc.
Ideal candidates will be able to source Commercial Marine business from craft designers, boat builders, engine suppliers, end users and original equipment manufacturers.
Candidate should be able to technically read 2d & 3d drawings, the ability to read customer requirements and obtain full specification quotes from suppliers, transfer information in quote / tender form to potential customers. Liase and update technical specification and prices as needed.
Candidates should also be able to follow projects from enquiry to trials (Long term 2 – 3 years). Liase with customer (could be several points of information enquiry originator, boat builder, boat designer, end user etc) equipment supplier, and our clients admin department. Etc.
Position will be home based but within reasonable travelling distance of either the East Kent coast or East Yorkshire and answerable to the company sales and marketing manager.
Candidate will be expected to travel throughout UK with some overseas travel (Mainly European supplier visits). Be computer literate, Have technical and written communication skills, well organised and used to long term projects.
Candidate will probably be from a capital equipment background.
SALARY
Salary will be £30 -£35K per year with company vehicle, lap top, mobile etc.
